Canopy by Hilton, a lifestyle hotel brand focused on local experiences, opened its first Texas location in July 2018. MCA Group teamed up with Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown to unveil their Texas property and promote the hotel’s offerings to targeted local, regional and national hotel trade markets. After the hotel opening, MCA continued handling all public relations and social media efforts for the hotel.
MCA Group used their event planning expertise to host a “groundbreaking” party in June 2016 to celebrate the start of construction. MCA handled each aspect of the event, including run-of-show, drafting talking points, managing vendors, entertainment, gift bags, etc. Additionally, MCA was able to secure local media attendance at the event.
MCA manages the Facebook and Instagram accounts for both the hotel and its rooftop lounge, Upside West Village. MCA has grown Canopy’s social media accounts to over 4,700 followers and 75,000 monthly impressions on average. To help promote the hotel’s first Valentine’s Brunch, MCA carried out social media marketing that included planning and posting original content, creating Facebook and Instagram ads, designing digital event flyers and collaborating with local influencer, Dallasites101. Seven days before the brunch, the Dallasites101 promotion post went live on Instagram and reservations came pouring in. In less than 48 hours, the Valentine’s Brunch went from 10 reservations to completely booked and Canopy gained over 200 new social media followers.
MCA continues to create detailed public relations plans for Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown. The plans include targeted press releases, media tours, a national familiarity trip and social media to promote the hotel’s offerings to local, regional, national and trade publications. Through these efforts, MCA has secured more than 54 million media impressions to date.
