Tupelo Honey, a popular North Carolina-based restaurant, brought MCA Public Relations on to assist with the opening of the southern eatery in Frisco’s The Star development. Tupelo Honey was one of the first restaurants to open in the buzzworthy new The Star complex, and it was the brand’s first foray into the Texas market.
MCA Public Relations put together a comprehensive PR plan that included media relations, influencer engagement, event management and creative pitching.
MCA hosted several preview events leading up to Tupelo Honey’s grand opening, including a media day inviting the top food writers in the area to visit Tupelo Honey and experience a full menu tasting. Pre-opening events also included a large opening preview for additional local media and influencers to experience Tupelo Honey prior to opening with a happy-hour style event showcasing the menu items and cocktails. More than 60 of the top movers and shakers, influencers, and media outlets attended this event.
Following opening, MCA planned an additional, more intimate media dinner for the remaining key media who were unable to make the previous events. This was well attended and great coverage resulted following the dinner.
Through extensive PR efforts, MCA was able to secure coverage in D Magazine, Dallas Morning News, Nation’s Restaurant News, USA Today and much more.
